Mazandaran rice is an important economic product and a source of agricultural income of the province; A product that is produced in excess of domestic consumption with the economic outlook of the 13th government and with the determination of export standards by the other side these days has received the approval of Russia and even Eurasia, and the producers and merchants of Mazandaran lined up to make this happen.
Export-oriented agricultural products of Mazandaran was prioritized by experts and officials at different levels for at least one year, and for this reason, in the past months, reforming and renovating paddy fields in order to obtain marketable products on the other side of the borders was on the agenda. The export chain should be completed after rice harvest. The storage capacity of agricultural products in Mazandaran increased from 800,000 tons to 1,500,000 tons.
All these pleasant and positive events for the export-oriented agricultural products of Mazandaran, especially rice, are being realized with basic planning, and now the senior officials of the province believe that Mazandaran rice has the ability to compete in the world markets.
Not long ago, the governor of Mazandaran said in this connection that the rice export of the province should be done in the shortest possible time by using transformation industries and knowledge-based companies.
The governor of Mazandaran continued: the era of raw sales of this product must end, otherwise the current situation of selling this product will continue.
We are ready to export 10% of Mazandaran rice production
Nikpour, head of the Iran Trade Center in Moscow and Dr. Yazdan Panah, CEO of the International Trade Center and Rice Export Terminal of the country, signed a memorandum of cooperation.
In this valley, Dr. Ismail Yazdan Panah, CEO of the International Trade Center and Rice Export Terminal of the country in Amol, said: 10% of Mazandaran’s rice production can be exported, but according to the available capacity and facilities, we can produce 1% of Mazandaran’s rice in the first step. He added: With the improvement of the export infrastructure, this amount will increase up to 10 times.
He also stated: Currently, relations between Iran and Russia are in a privileged historical position, which is a good opportunity to increase the export of Mazandaran rice to Russia.
Dr. Yazdan Panah added: With the memorandum signed with Russia, legal, financial and marketing services will be provided to exporters to enter the Russian market.
The CEO of the country’s international trade center and rice export terminal said: Considering the taste of Russians and the acceptability of Mazandaran rice, it is a good opportunity to take over the Russian rice consumption market.
Rice farming is one of the most important agricultural activities in Mazandaran and an important source of income for the farmers of the province, and with the production of more than one million tons, 42% of the country’s rice is supplied from this province.
Mazandaran province produces 72 types of agricultural and garden products, which ranks first to third in the production of 15 products.
With only 2 and a half percent of the country’s agricultural land, this province has 7 percent of agricultural production and 11 percent of the economic value of the country’s agricultural products.
