It is said that this rice entered the country during the time of Naseruddin Shah, Mirza Agha Khan Nouri, who was in charge of the country’s exports, commissioned some people to procure beet seeds and rice from East Asian countries to plant them in the north of the country.

According to a story, this rice was prepared from India and was nicknamed Chancellory rice.
Now, after many years, its name has been changed from Sadr Azami rice to Sadri rice

Types of Sadri rice

You have probably heard the name of Sadri along with other brands, such as “Sadri Hashmi rice, Sadri Ali Kazemi, Sadri Dodi and…”
And you must have been asked that there are many varieties of Sadri rice in the market, while it is not so!!!
Sadri rice is generally divided into three categories: yellow tail, red tail and black tail. Today, yellow tail and red tail rice are cultivated less than black tail.

If you have seen words such as Hashmi, Ali Kazemi, etc. next to Sadri rice, it means that this rice is a combination of Sadri and Hashmi rice, or Sadri and Ali Kazmi, because Hashmi and Ali Kazmi rice are separate varieties of rice.

Sadri rice is one of the low-yielding types of rice, and during harvesting, it has low yield and productivity compared to rice in the same row, such as Tarem rice, Hashemi rice, this is one of the main reasons for its high price in the rice price market.
